DVM J12 Impulse Response Pack
This impulse response pack is based around a DV 12 inch jazz combo.
Perfect for clean, round jazz tones, this pack was recorded through a 1084 style preamp with 5 different microphones including a tube 47 condenser, 57 dynamic, 160 ribbon, 414 condenser and 421 dynamic style microphones. These were captured at different distances, on and off axis (defined by ‘off’ in the patch title) and with different polar patterns to give a wide range of tones and characters.
I’ve found over time engineering in the studio that many guitarists want to hear the sound of their amp in the room when recorded, and the figure 8 IRs offer more of the “air” around the speaker for which they’re looking. There are also ‘room’ captures to give an alternative to the close mic’d sounds.
These are all 500ms IRs recorded at 96khz in order to offer the highest quality available. If required, they down sample and shorten when dragged into almost all IR loaders, including the Line 6 Helix.
